VMware HA-along with new VMware vSphere 6.5 capabilities of clusters and resource pools and tighter integration with other VMware tools such as VMware vCenter Server, vMotion, and VMware DRS-greatly simplifies virtual machine provisioning, resource allocation, load balancing and migration, while also providing an easy-to-use, cost-effective, high-availability and failover solution for applications running in virtual machines. Using VMware vSphere 6 and VMware HA helps to eliminate single points of failure in the deployment of business-critical applications in virtual machines. At the same time, it enables you to maintain other inherent virtualization benefits such as higher system utilization, closer alignment of IT resources with business goals and priorities, and more streamlined, simplified and automated administration of larger infrastructure installations and systems.

Increased Security with Trusted Execution Technology (TXT)

The Stirling 287 features a new Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and has been VMware ESXi 6.5 certified to support Trusted Execution Technology (TXT) . TPM employs cryptographic techniques to provide measurements of software and platform components so that system software as well as local and remote management applications may use those measurements to make trust decisions. This technology is based on an industry initiative by the Trusted Computing Group (TCG) to promote safer computing. It defends against software-based attacks aimed at stealing sensitive information by corrupting system and/or BIOS code, or modifying the platform’s configuration.

XDAS FX/XDAS GX Series – Modular Host Design

Based on your needs and budget, select from 8Gb/s or 16Gb/s Fibre Channel, 1Gb/s or 10Gb/s iSCSI (either SFP+ or RJ-45), or 12G or 6Gb/s SAS host interfaces. The wide choices allows for great flexiblity in this product line. A company on a budget can start off with cheaper gigabit technology and later when they are able to afford faster technology they can swap modules for Fibre or 10G iSCSI. Host interface modules can be easily swapped and upgraded, making the new XDAS FX more future-proof than any of our prior DAS products.

XDAS GX system features dual host boards per controller. The 12Gb/s SAS interface offers a low latency pathway without compromising performance due to delays or bandwidth limits. On XDAS GX systems, 12Gb/s SAS has been implemented for client interfacing and importantly for drives. It features built-in connection scaling, adapting to different capacities and adjusting actual connection bandwidth based on real time loads. Users benefit from a better cost-performance ratio with 12Gb/s SAS, gaining improved return on investment.

High-Availability SAN Delivers Great Price/Performance

Data availability is critical to any business operation. XDAS FX-Series features high availability hardware design with redundant, hot-swappable components, such as RAID controllers, power supplies and cooling fans, to eliminate single point of failure. RAID protection ensures data accessibility during drive failure. In the event of a power outage, CacheSafe technology will automatically leverage power of the Battery Backup Unit (BBU) to safeguard cached data by writing it to the flash module for permanent retention.
