Cloud Gateway Service
To leverage cloud storage’s unlimited scalability and flexible “scale on demand” model, organizations are increasingly in search of storage solutions that combine the benefits of both cloud and on-premises storage. By integrating Intelligent Cloud Gateway Engine and supporting a wide range of both private cloud and public cloud services, including Amazon, Azure and Google, Infrotrend storage systems offer 3 cloud functions to make the most of cloud’s advantages with the purchase of only one license required.
Cloud Cache: A copy of frequently accessed data or all data (fully cache mode) is kept on local storage and all data is also flushed to cloud.
Cloud Backup: The latest data is always stored locally while multi-point-in-time snapshots are stored on cloud for disaster recovery.
Cloud Tiering: Frequently accessed data is kept on local storage and infrequently accessed data is migrated to cloud.
SSD Cache
SSD Cache leverages the high speed and low latency of solid state drives in delivering faster read performance where it counts most – in high demand, vital data that must be accessed frequently. The feature helps users to better cope with high I/O loads and growing storage capacity requirements while dramatically boosting performance. SSD Cache presents particularly attractive advantages in read traffic-intensive environments, for example online transaction processing (OLTP) and email (Microsoft Exchange).
Proprietary SSD Cache technology allows up to four SSDs per controller to be used as a high speed cache, with sizes of up to 3.2TB. This large cache capacity offers ample room for essential data and applications, which can be allocated to the SSD Cache pool. In terms of IOPS, SSD Cache runs up to 16 times faster than systems without SSD Cache in tests, and further reduces response time by as much as 88% in the same test.
Local Replication
In business-critical environments, users require strong protection for their valuable data sets. To help users protect data in the most efficient way, local replication leverages the power of XDAS storage systems to provide snapshot and volume copy/mirror capabilities. With space-saving snapshot copies, users can easily restore files or rollback data as necessary. With the full data copies, users can quickly restore service when a RAID-protected volume fatally fails.
Included Local Replication
Snapshot | Snapshot images per source volume: 64 Snapshot images per system: 1024 |
Volume Copy | Source volumes per system: 16 |
Replication pairs per source volume: 4
Replication pairs per system: 64 |
Advanced Local Replicaition Option
Snapshot | Snapshot images per source volume: 256 Snapshot images per system: 4096 |
Volume Copy | Source volumes per system: 32 |
Replication pairs per source volume: 8
Replication pairs per system: 256 |
Features | Benefits |
Increased availability |
|
Data protection with snapshots |
Instantly take point-in-time data images and use them as granular recovery points while consuming minimum disk space and performance by storing only data changes |
Flexible data copy deployment |
Split and re-sync mirroring between source and copy as business needs require; flexibly leverage independent copies of production data for secondary applications |
Remote Replication Option
Remote replication leverages the power of storage systems to copy data between storage pools or systems in IP or FC SAN at different sites. When source data fails due to system malfunction or accidents, users can leverage the disk-based remote copy to restart service in minutes. If users would like to transfer responsibility back to the source, it can be quickly synced with the remote copy for only differentials. To further ensure the integrity of the remote data, remote replication allows users to protect the remote copy with snapshot technology. Granular snapshot images can help restore the corrupt remote copy in seconds when it is required to resume business service.
Features | Benefits |
Minimized unplanned downtime | Reduce recovery time after system failures; intact data copies at remote sites can be immediately used to support applications |
Flexible data copy protection |
Synchronous and asynchronous options for IP and FC SAN; users can split and re-sync the mirroring between source and copy as needed and take snapshots for remote data to enhance protection |
Affordable data protection |
Achieve enterprise-class protection at affordable price points; companies with tight budgets do not need to compromise on data protection |
Data compression | Leverage data compression for asynchronous remote replication for increased efficiency |
Automated Storage Tiering
By enabling users to flexibly assign applications to four available tiers distinguished by different drive types and RAID levels, automated storage tiering provides an architecture that fully leverages the advantages of different storage media, including SSDs for high-performance data storage. With automated storage tiering, users can greatly optimize storage performance and increase ROI. As part of automated storage tiering, data is migrated between tiers based on data usage patterns and user-configured policies. With tiering implemented on the sub-volume level, data can be moved in a highly granular fashion. Data migration achieves efficient distribution of data, and ensures that SSDs and other high-performance drives have the necessary storage space to deal with mission-critical applications.
Features | Benefits |
Fine-tuning storage deployment |
By assigning applications to different tiers consisting of different drive types and RAID levels, users can easily meet wide variety of service level requirements |
Optimized storage performance |
SSDs are used most efficiently in an automated storage tiering architecture to optimize performance by up to 150% at no additional costs compared to a non-tiered configuration |
Highly efficient data migration |
|
Simplified management |
Automated features help IT managers spend much less time on assigning applications to storage media and migrating data |
