Aberdeen Introduces Industry's First Interchangeable
SAS / SATA II Storage Server Solution Santa Fe Springs, California, April 24, 2006 -- Aberdeen
LLC, the Custom Server Solution Provider, has developed the industry's
first customizable SAS storage server solution. With yet another
enhancement to its line of storage-optimized solutions, Aberdeen eagerly
looks forward to utilizing the benefits of SAS to deliver a storage server
with most the advanced technology available in the market today.
The major improvements of SAS technology include support
for up to 128 hard drives on a single controller, more than quadrupling
SCSI bandwidth for substantial performance gains. As with all Aberdeen
Stirling servers, the Stirling X332 offers the benefit of RAID
controller redundancy. Additionally, upgrading to SAS will allow for
backward compatibility with SATA II drives for unprecedented
flexibility and involves zero cost premiums compared with traditional SCSI
solutions.
In demonstrating the Stirling X332 at the NAB 2006
Convention, Booth #SL1406, Aberdeen will illustrate the cutting-edge
performance of SAS technology and its hot-swap interchangeability of SATA II and SAS
drives. With 16 drive-bays and the ability to combine both types of drives
in any combination, the Stirling's versatility is unending, not to mention
the expandability to virtually unlimited TBs with an external SAS
connector.

combines hot-swappable 950-watt triple redundant power with support for
five
expansion cards. It features
SES2 SAS technology with an Adaptec® 4800SAS controller which supports
sixteen hot-swap SAS or SATA II hard drives at 3 GB/second, and utilizes
two dual Intel® Xeon® processors.
The X332 provides the ultimate in availability, while
maximizing expansion, storage capacity, and thermal control. As an enterprise-class,
next generation storage server, the Stirling X332 delivers a robust storage platform with
