Aberdeen
uses the latest technology in its web site to
assure reliable and secure on-line ordering. If
you prefer using the more traditional methods of
ordering, please see the "How to
Order"
document. On-line ordering allows you to order at
your convenience by selecting the desired items
and filling out the necessary information. If you
chose so, you can receive an order confirmation
by phone, fax or e-mail.
Aberdeen's server has been certified by VeriSign
with a 'high-assurance' Class 3 Digital
ID for electronic commerce servers to
provide trust in the server's public key. This
public key is instrumental in providing the
secure link between 'client and server' for
exchanging credit card numbers and other
sensitive information.
Our web site provides enhanced security
by using industry standard methods of
cryptography to ensure privacy, integrity and
authenticity for secure communications between
your browser and our server. Support for both
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Secure HTTP
(S-HTTP) protocols exist in our server. However,
our current implementation offers enhanced
security only with the more commonly supported
SSL protocol. Netscape Navigator, Microsoft
Internet Explorer 3.0 and Spyglass Mosaic are
some of the popular browsers that support the SSL
protocol.
