JBOD EXPANSION
SCALABLE DAS STORAGE

The Aberdeen XDAS product line features many scalable DAS that may be expanded with SAS to SAS JBOD enclosures. Tremendous cost savings can be realized by taking advantage of these add-on units.

JBOD enclosures are managed by dual or single expander controllers that distribute data flow to individual disk drives and reports enclosure operating statuses through a proprietary enclosure service via in-band protocols. The enclosure, along with other JBODs, connects to a RAID subsystem and serves as a building block of a scalable configuration.
