ABERDEEN XDAS 723F - 3U/12TB
FIBRE-to-SATA REDUNDANT CONTROLLER RAID STORAGE SOLUTION

RAID

  • Multiple arrays configurable with dedicated or global hot spares
  • RAID levels supported: RAID 0, 1 (0+1), 3, 5, 10, 30, 50, NRAID and JBOD
  • Online expansion by:
    • Adding new drives
    • Copying and replacing drives with drives of larger capacity
  • Automatic background rebuilds
  • Configurable stripe size and write policy per array
  • Intelligent drive handling:
    • In degraded mode: skips irreparable blocks to continue rebuild
    • In normal operation: data-block verification and repair

System Components

Redundant controller configuration provides full RAID functionalities
  • One (1) XDAS enhanced 3U enclosure
  • Two (2) RAID controller modules
  • Two (2) 256MB DDR RAM DIMM modules (pre-installed on the controller modules)
  • Two (2) hot-swappable, redundant, 460W power supply units
  • Two (2) hot-swappable, redundant, dual-fan cooling modules running in high/low speeds
  • Sixteen (16) hot-swappable drive trays
  • Two (2) front handles
  • Two (2) independent battery backup units (BBUs)
  • One (1) enclosure configuration card
  • Two (2) host connection modules

Host Interface

  • Two (2) FC-2G host channels with embedded bypass circuit to four (4) FC ports on two (2) hot-swappable, independent host connection modules
  • DIP switch settings to change host port attributes
  • Auto-negotiate FC-AL, point-to-point, or switched fabric
  • Tagged command queuing up to 256
  • Variable stripe size per logical drive
  • Optimization setting for random or sequential I/Os

Drive Interface

  • Sixteen (16) hot-swappable 3Gbps SATA-II drive trays that accommodate 1-inch pitch, 3.5-inch SATA-II or SATA-I disk drives
